The Shadow Commission

May 17th, 2012

After moaning about not getting any commissioned work on Twitter, Alan Henderson took pity and commissioned me to try The Shadow. Really happy with how it’s turned out.

If you’re ever interested in commissioning me, get in touch and we can work something out.

Video Nasties Vol. 1 Digital Comics

May 13th, 2012

I’ve put together a digital collection of the first four issues of Video Nasties, which is now available from my store in either CBR or PDF formats.

I’ll put together a volume 2 if this experiment ends up working out.

Chloe Noonan

May 12th, 2012

I’ve been meaning to get a Chloe Noonan drawn for ages, and I finally managed it last night. You’ll no doubt already be aware of her, starring in Marc Ellerby’s excellent Chloe Noonan: Monster Hunter series.

I felt especially guilty when I gave her a small cameo in the last issue of Video Nasties, only to end up having to obscure most of her behind a character’s arm. That guilt has lifted now.

The Whale House Debuting at Bristol

May 11th, 2012

I won’t be at the Bristol Expo this weekend, unfortunately, but Andrew Cheverton will be at the Angry Candy table debuting the first issue of The Whale House.

I might make the trip next year when I have a few more issues of it under my belt.

Plague of the Zombies Review

May 10th, 2012

My Plague of the Zombies comic strip review is now up at Electric Sheep.

Plague of the Zombies Sketches

May 7th, 2012

I was happy to get asked to do another comic strip film review for Electric Sheep Magazine recently, which was for Hammer’s 1966 Plague of the Zombies. I’ve always been meaning to get it watched, so this was a bit of a blessing.

The strip will probably be up on their site soon, but I thought I’d share some first scratchy sketches on here I did as I was watching, as I’m just as happy with them as much as the final strip.

“.. Hitler, Osama Bin Laden and Toby..”

April 27th, 2012

I haven’t spent enough time in sketchbooks just drawing recently, so am warming myself back up. Here are a couple of US Office character sketches from tonight.

The Whale House

March 17th, 2012

After much shameful stopping and starting, I’m finally in the home stretch in terms of art for the first issue of The Whale House, the comic I’m working on with the excellent Andrew Cheverton, author of the fantastic and critically acclaimed indie series West.

I won’t spoil any of it by posting entire pages, but here are a few jpegs I’ve managed to clip.

Video Nasties Ad

March 11th, 2012

A few reviews with kind words have appeared during the first few months of Video Nasties being available, so I decided to try and show them off. The image is simply a blown up and coloured panel from issue 6.

I’ve lowered the price to £7.00, too, so for the time being you can grab the whole thing for a measly £9.99 at Lulu.com. Go on.
